Her Majesty The Queen

Beacon of Brightest Light is a Platinum Jubilee anthem composed by the great composer Debbie Wiseman OBE inspired by the words of young leaders of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, in celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.It is performed by soprano Nadine Benjamin MBE, with the with the Capital Voices Commonwealth Choir featuring Tim Howar, Kirby Hughes, Arabella Rodrigo, Stephanie Marion, Sejal Keshwala and Emma May, with Oli Jackson at the piano, conducted by Debbie Wiseman OBE.
The anthem was performed at Westminster Abbey on Commonwealth Day, then at St. James’s Palace and most recently at Windsor Horse Show.
Debbie has kindly allowed QCT to put a download link on our website to the anthem and requested that donations from its download go to The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust with a proportion also going to the Royal Commonwealth Society.

On the 2nd of June 2022, 47 Young leaders from The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust’s Network of young leaders lit beacons in their Commonwealth countries across Asia, Pacific, Africa, Caribbean and Americas, and Europe. This was to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee her lifetime of service to others, and her love for the Commonwealth and its young people.

2022 is Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year, marking 70 years of service. In celebration of our Patron’s Platinum Jubilee, we are starting the #Platinum70 challenge to walk a combined 70,000km.
From 26th May until 30th June 2022, we invite people from around the world to engage in the challenge whilst raising funds to support young leaders who are transforming their communities across the world.

In this Platinum Jubilee year, QCT launched the Youth Ventures Programme, which is our flagship Platinum Jubilee programme, to identify and support outstanding youth-led social initiatives across Commonwealth countries. The first round was an open round together with a focus on the Caribbean and QCT selected 15 of the most outstanding applications with regards to their social impact.The awardees selected are from Cameroon, Ghana, Guyana, India, Kenya, Maldives, Nigeria, Pakistan, South Africa, Tanzania, Trinidad and Tobago and UK.
